Step on deck and enjoy the live music, televised sports, diverse clientele and fresh seafood in a friendly atmosphere at Sam’s Boat.
Sam’s Boat, off the Southwest Freeway, near Richmond Avenue, is a Texas-based seafood restaurant that caters to anyone in the mood for good food and a nice time.
Whether at 11 a.m. or 2 a.m., on the sizeable boat-style deck outside or in the nautical dining room, the service remains prompt and exceptional.
The energetic waiters are ready to make sure orders are served to satisfaction, the atmosphere remains pleasant and everything continues to run smoothly. Some customers come there so often that the staff recognizes them by name.
The restaurant’s seafood dishes keep patrons returning.
The crab cakes are crisp on the outside and tender on the inside. The savory shrimp, crab and well-seasoned crawfish are favorites, and the grilled tilapia is flavorful.
The seafood gumbo and jambalaya tastes homemade and Sam’s crab balls are a true original that come along with a variety of sauces.
The menu has a variety of non-seafood options that are also tasty. There are various salads and sandwiches to choose from and many of the burgers are appetizing.
One in particular, the Swiss avocado burger, is a succulent restaurant specialty that tops a well-done patty with fresh green cuts of avocado.
Sam’s Boat is also a budget-friendly spot that has a special discount on food and drinks Monday through Friday.
There is a signature dish known as the “Sam’s Boat Special” available daily.
The restaurant provides a neat diversion from the usual dining scene. It attracts friendly people and the waiters give easygoing table service, making the Sam’s Boat experience worthwhile.
Sam’s Boat has many locations, two within easy driving distance to the University, one in Stafford next to Southwest Freeway and another location on Richmond Avenue.
The restaurant’s customers can gather, watch popular sport games and root on a favorite team or athlete. With various games showing on different screens it is hard to miss out on the action.
The restaurant also features live music on certain days of the week, ranging from country to zydeco and even the occasional local talent. Regardless of the band, they always enliven the restaurant.
Even with the large crowd on the weekends, Sam’s Boat has a spacious deck and interior. If it happens to be a hot Houston day, many fans on the deck help blow cool air.
Whether looking for seafood, meeting with friends or catching the big game, Sam’s Boat is the ideal place.
