University Store manager elected president of college store association

After over 20 years of serving as the director of the Houston Baptist University Store Anthony Martin has recently been installed as president-elect of the National Association of College Stores (NACS). Through this position, Martin will be able to impact college retail stores nationwide working with its more than 4,000 store and associate members.

Martin has held other leadership roles as a part of NACS and has been attending the organization’s annual convention since 1979. He also served as the president of the NACS Foundation from 2012 – 2013.

According to their website, the NACS Foundation conducts research and provides support for the advancement of university stores.

The NACS Foundation funds initiatives that support industry education programs and make them available to a wide degree of professionals and enables research that addresses issues of fundamental importance to the college store industry.

In addition to his leadership in the NACS Foundation, Martin has been recognized for his accomplishments and hard work in the college retail industry. In 2012, the Southwest College Bookstore Association awarded Martin a Lifetime Achievement Award.
