Thrifting 101

When a person wants to build a wardrobe that’s different and stands out, thrifting is a great way to achieve that without spending a lot of money.  This is ideal for many college students who sometimes can’t afford to keep up with the current trends, and because of this thrifting is increasing in popularity among students.

Here are a few things to remember when entering the world of thrifting. First, don’t be afraid to think outside of the box. Many of the clothes at the thrifts stores need to be mixed and match before you can achieve what you are looking for. Also,  ask  friends where the best thrift stores are, and call around to see when new shipments have arrived. You also want to remember when you’re shopping don’t forget to try on all of the clothes you choose, because sizes tend to vary brand to brand. Another thing to remember is to give yourself plenty of time to shop. Thrifting is like a treasure hunt and can be really fun. So, pick a day where you have plenty of time to fully enjoy it.

Thrifting should be a fun experience so don’t get discourage if you can’t find anything right away. Keep looking and eventually you will come across something that fits your personal style. So, grab some friends and  let the adventure began.
