Tottenham Hotspur fans react to latest reports about Christian Eriksen Real Madrid want Tottenham midfielder Christian Eriksen in January window

Real Madrid are reportedly keen on making a move for Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Christian Eriksen, who the Spanish giants tracked even the summer transfer window.

The report says that Real Madrid manager Zinedine Zidane sees the Danish midfielder as an important player for his team.

The Tottenham Hotspur midfielder was widely tipped for a move to the Bernabéu in the summer but Zinedine Zidane's preference to hold out for Paul Pogba - a move which never materialised - saw the Danish worldwide miss out.

The reason for such a fee would be that Eriksen's contract is getting towards its end in June 2020 and Real Madrid want to be sure they will sign the player they want so badly.

While Eriksen is one of a number of stars - including Jan Vertonghen and Toby Alderweireld - who could jump ship from struggling Spurs, who conceded ten goals in two matches before the global break.

- When does the transfer window reopen? Spurs have done their best to try and re-sign Eriksen, but he's shown little interest in staying in London.

Injuries in midfield have hampered Madrid this season and sources have told ESPN FC Perez believes an offer of €30 million for the Denmark worldwide could be enough to seal the deal in January.

But he was unable to seal a deal, and now would prefer a move next summer, as he could request a higher signing-on bonus because he'd be joining on a free transfer.
