The 44-year-old Once Upon a Time in Hollywood star announced on Tuesday (September 10) his support of two organizations working on humanitarian relief and biodiversity protection in the Bahamas following the devastation of Hurricane Dorian.

Abaco and Grand Bahama were severely destructed by Hurricane Dorian, and people from these islands are still quickly evacuating.

"It's been a week since Dorian unleashed ferocious rain and wind gusts on the Bahamas, and the challenges of bringing in supplies, transporting them around the islands and spreading word are undiminished".

The press release added that hurricane relief efforts from the US continue with US Charge d'Affaires Stephanie Bowers, US Northern Command Commander General Terrence J O'Shaughnessy, and US Coast Guard District 7 Commander Rear Admiral Eric Jones, along with Bahamian officials recently conducting air assessments of affected areas to refine disaster relief needs.

Meanwhile, Bahamian tourism officials said the best way to help rebuild the storm-wrecked islands is to visit them - noting that they consist of 700 islands over 100,000 square miles of water, most of it fine. "There are many deaths, and many still missing", Minnis said.

"The Pentagon's response included designating 20 Army and Navy helicopters to fly equipment and people from Homestead Air Reserve Base in southern Florida and reopening airfields. No other Navy combatant ship has been involved in the operation".
