Driver caught possibly sleeping in moving Tesla on highway

Video: Man Asleep At Wheel As Self-Driving Tesla Speeds At 90 Kmph Tesla driver appears to fall asleep behind wheel of moving car

The footage, filmed on a busy toll road in MA, is the latest of a number of sightings of travellers apparently getting some shut eye while their Tesla vehicles are on auto-pilot - a feature which allows the vehicle to steer, accelerate and brake automatically in a single lane.

Driver Dakota Randall was cruising down the Massachusetts Turnpike when he noticed something was off with the driver in the vehicle next to him.

A motorist behind the wheel and a passenger next to him were caught on video fast asleep inside a Tesla on a highway over the weekend. He didn't contact the police about the incident, even though he had the video to backup his story.

Tesla responded that their cars already had engagement monitoring, as users had to torque the steering wheel regularly to show that they are paying attention.

However, in California for example, while there is not a particular law about sleeping while in the driver's seat of an autonomous vehicle, police have powers to ensure drivers are not threatening the safety of themselves and others.

Travis Fulgham had 3 receptions for a team-high 80 receiving yards while Isaac Nauta logged 3 grabs for 45 yards and a touchdown. There some bright spots in the loss, including Stafford who went 27/45 for 385 yards with three touchdowns and no interceptions.

"I thought I should record this, then I thought I shouldn't record this because it's also unsafe, but it was just so freaky I just had to get it on video", Randall said.

Massachusetts State Police told WBZ that there's no law that would make falling asleep at the wheel of a self-driving auto illegal.

"Many of these videos appear to be risky pranks or hoaxes". Randall said he honked the horn but wasn't able to wake the snoozing driver.

Randall said on Twitter that the video wasn't a hoax or prank - at least on his end.

So it's best to just stay awake on the road - even if your auto can drive itself.
