Xiaomi has confirmed that this Redmi-branded smartphone with the 64MP camera will launch in India by the fourth quarter of 2019, which means we won't see it before end of the year. These three new smartphones would be launched under the Realme, Realme Pro and Realme X series. Also, RealmeOS is most likely based on Android Q. This suggests that Realme may begin core development as soon as the final version of Android Q is launched. The smartphone comes armed with 2.2 GHz octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 710 chipset and houses an in-display next-generation light-sensitive screen fingerprint sensor.

The phone is believed to be the world's first 64MP Samsung ISOCELL Bright GW1 sensor. Realme's arch-rival Xiaomi has also officially announced its plans to launch the same Samsung sensor at an event in China just one day before Realme announced its plans. The company CEO has teased images with the "64MP AI Quad Camera" watermark.

Sheth also took a dig at Xiaomi and said that Realme is offering the world's first hands-on experience rather than showing a slide presentation.

Realme, the smartphone company which was initially formed as a sub-brand of Oppo but later split to work independently, has managed to establish itself in the Indian market.

While the smartphone industry is yet to get over the 48MP camera hangover, now it's the 64MP getting ready to take on the market. The company hasn't shared any details about the phone but it is said to be the upcoming Mi MIX 4.

To put things into context, the Fujifilm GFX 100 captures 102MP images with a resolution of 11,648 x 8,736 pixels; the Xiaomi camera will capture 108MP images with a resolution of 12,032 x 9,024 pixels. However, there are still no too many details, such as which phone will pack this beast of a sensor.
