The Pentagon said on Monday it had tested a conventionally-configured cruise missile that hit its target after more than 500 km (310 miles) of flight, its first such test since the demise of a landmark nuclear pact this month.

"These missiles can be launched from launchers that are already located in Romania and should be located in Poland in the near future".

The test followed the USA formally withdrawing from the Cold War-era Intermediate-Range Nuclear Forces Treaty (INF) on August 2 after accusing Moscow of violating it, a charge dismissed by the Kremlin. It is enough only to change the software [for a new type of launch].

Putin said Russian Federation will also work to design ground-launched cruise missiles, but reaffirmed that Russian Federation will not deploy them anywhere before the United States does that first.

"August's survey data provides a clear signal that economic growth has continued to soften in the third quarter". The German Manufacturing purchasing managers index (PMI) arrived at 43.6 versus 43.0 expected and 43.2 previous.

The test would have been barred if the INF treaty were still in force.

Protests ended up with "thousands of injured people, including some sustaining serious injuries, both among protesters and law enforcement officers" and even deaths, Putin said.Earlier this week, he made similar comments about Moscow protests during a press conference with the French President Emmanuel Macron.

Putin said that Moscow could not reveal everything about the blast because of its military nature, but that information exchanges about such accidents should be improved. Articles appear on euronews.com for a limited time.
