"Some people may be able to access Twitter again and we're working to make sure Twitter is available to everyone as quickly as possible", the update reads.

Twitter Inc said on Thursday its microblogging platform was back up partially after suffering a worldwide outage for more than an hour.

Yep, Twitter just went down, leaving social media addicts with no way to broadcast their stream-of-consciousness hot takes to the Internet.

The disruption began about 2:46 p.m Eastern Time, according to DownDetector.com, a site that monitors outages on social media.

The monitoring website DownDetector showed a series of outage reports starting at 1846 GMT, concentrated in Europe, North America and Japan. At the time of this article, people worldwide are having trouble accessing their Twitter accounts. The platform experienced temporary outages relating to DM delivery and notifications on July 3, the same day Facebook, Instagram and WhatsApp users saw those services down for most of the day. "We will keep you updated on what's happening".

According to Newsweek, Twitter let out a statement acknowledging the outage.

Twitter is now investigating the issue, but it's unclear how long the site will remain down.

Twitter is now aware of the "service disruption" problem and is trying to fix it. This was in part because the outage affected tools Google's engineers use to fix problems.
