London's Metropolitan Police investigation confirmed that the man fell from a landing gear compartment of a Kenya Airways flight from Nairobi.

A body of a man suspected to be a stowaway was found in a London garden on Sunday. It turned out a body had fallen from the sky, landing in the garden, close to where the neighbour was tracking the Kenya Airways flight at the time.

Mr Kibe told the BBC that Kenya's Department of Criminal Intelligence, along with the US's FBI, are investigating what happened.

One neighbor described hearing a "whomp" as the body hit the ground, the UK's Press Association (PA) news agency reported.

In August 1998, revelers at a pub nearbt called The Marlborough told police they had seen a body fall from a plane into the same Sainsbury's building site.

The Met Police said a bag, water and some food were discovered in the landing gear compartment of the plane when it arrived at the airport.

In 2015, a man fell from a plane that had travelled from Johannesburg in South Africa to London Heathrow. "I realized immediately that he had fallen". He said the body had landed next to a neighbor who was sunning himself in his garden.

Lagarde quits International Monetary Fund for European Central Bank
German Chancellor Angela Merkel also praised the spirit of European Union unity, which she said will be essential moving forward. Prior to joining the IMF, Lagarde served as France's finance minister from 2007 to 2011.

"If it had been two seconds later, he would have landed on the common where there were hundreds of people - my kids were in the garden 15 minutes before [he fell]".

He added: "So I went outside and it was just then the neighbour came out and he was very shaken". Experts believe roughly three-quarters of stowaways do not survive because of the extreme cold and lack of oxygen as the plane reaches cruising altitude.

A post-mortem examination would be carried out and the death was not being treated as suspicious, United Kingdom police said.

According to Kenya Airways, the plane was inspected and had suffered no damage in the incident.

The spokesman said it was unfortunate that the man had lost his life by stowing away on their aircraft and the airline offered its condolences.

Police are now working to identify the man and a post-mortem is due to be carried out.

Jose Matada fell to his death in 2012 from a British Airways flight from Angola.
