Problems Faced by Surface Book 2 Model of Microsoft

Microsoft Surface Book 2 Microsoft acknowledges two new issues in the Windows 10 May 2019 Update
Emmett Howard | 16 July, 2019, 16:11

We mention Alexa specifically because Microsoft has already brought Amazon's digital assistant to some Windows 10 laptops and PCs, with deeper integration between Cortana and Alexa. Microsoft has advised everyone to upgrade to Windows 10 to avoid potential security risks.

Hidden in last night's release notes is the final nail in the coffin for Microsoft's unloved digital assistant, Cortana.

That's not surprising, though, given that Microsoft has made it clear that Windows 10 19H2 will be a more minor update which is about tweaking and improving performance, rather than introducing any big new headline features. Microsoft's workaround for that problem was to simply remove all external media before attempting to install the update. Alexa could pave the way, turning your Windows 10 machine into an Echo Show-like device, but this doesn't mean Cortana is completely out from the picture.

In the recent Spring 2019 update, Microsoft moved Cortana into a separate app from the desktop search, fuelling speculation that it has been demoted in the company's priorities. The actions include removing popular Microsoft Internet games.

Aside from that, the fresh preview build contains a fix aiming to reduce the latency involved when inking (using Windows Ink with a stylus and touchscreen).

10 tips for making the switch from Windows 7 to Windows 10 With the end of support for Windows 7 looming, four tech chiefs share their tips for making the switch to Windows 10.

In order to aid organizations in deploying a new OS to all endpoints, Microsoft has provided different options for companies still running Windows 7, one of which includes an extended support package at an annual cost of up to $500,000 for a company with 10,000-plus endpoints, the research said.

The options will be off by default, and Microsoft is not expected to roll out the update until September. Microsoft said, "It is with heavy hearts that we have made the hard decision".

For those who already have Windows 10 version 1903 installed, there really isn't a fix.
