Arsenal have not come close to making a bid that his close to Palace' valuation of Zaha.

The gunners have been linked with Wilfried Zaha since the start of the transfer window and they even had a £40million bid rejected by Crystal Palace despite the Ivorian global having his brother say that it's always been a dream for him to play for the North Londoners.

Zaha is one of Emery's prime transfer targets but we've been struggling to agree terms for the Ivory Coast worldwide after Crystal Palace rejected our opening £40m offer because it fell well short of their valuation.

Eagles boss Roy Hodgson complained this week of a lack of options in defence and could be tempted by the player's versatility.

The ex-England manager told Sky Sports: "I don't think Arsenal have actually made a bid that has come anywhere near our valuation".

"I'm sure the player realises that if someone's going to take him away from us, he'll expect clubs to pay the market value". According to The Sun, Zaha has now asked the club to be allowed to leave amid Arsenal's interest. "Until someone does that, there's not much to discuss regarding Wilf (Zaha)", he said.

Palace are also looking for a centre back, a midfielder and a forward, but are determined to hold on to Zaha despite the Ivory Coast star insisting he wants to leave.

"He has a long term contract and all we can do now is wish him well and hope he comes back to us very soon".

The Eagles are actively searching for someone who can impress in the right-back role to replace Aaron Wan-Bissaka, who left Selhurst Park to join Manchester United earlier in the summer, but it appears they won't be getting their hands on the Spurs youngster.

It seems Arsenal might submit another bid to sign Zaha. Emery has wanted him since Palace beat Arsenal 3-2 in April.
