Biden added later: "The fact of the matter is, that's why I chose here in SC and chose an audience that in fact would be the most likely to have been offended by anything that was said".

Still, this weekend was Biden's second time in the first-in-the-south primary state since the furor unfolded.
On Saturday, Booker also responded to Biden's apology, saying, "First I want to say thank you".
In remarks at a campaign event in Sumter, South Carolinareported by NBC News, Biden said: "Was I wrong a few weeks ago to somehow give the impression to people that I was praising those men who I successfully opposed time and again?"
Biden told CNN in an interview that aired Friday that he "wasn't prepared for the person coming at me the way she came at me", noting that Harris knows him and knew his son, Beau, who died of brain cancer in 2015.
