The audio, allegations of abuse and subsequent investigation were enough for the Chiefs to announce in the midst of the National Football League draft in April that they were suspending him from all team activities.

In a statement provided by the NFL, the league concludes, "based on the evidence presently available, the NFL cannot conclude Mr. Hill violated Personal Conduct Policy".

The NFL added in its statement that "information developed in the court proceeding is confidential and has not been shared with us" and all law enforcement records are sealed. I full respect and accept the NFL's decision. In the conversation, Espinoza accused Hill of hurting the child asking him "Why did he say daddy did it?"

Later in the recording, Espinal also tells Hill their son is "terrified of you", to which Hill replies, "You need to be terrified of me, too, bitch". Accordingly, he may attend Kansas City's training camp and participate in all club activities.

"Based on the information provided to us by the league, we have decided it is appropriate for Tyreek to return to the team at the start of training camp".

From there, it was Hill's turn to make a statement of his own and it was by far the most personal. Throughout this investigation, the NFL's primary concern has been the well-being of the child. The league said Friday it has not been given access to information in the court proceedings, and a district attorney in June said an investigation was dropped because officials couldn't prove who injured the boy.

The case took another turn earlier this month, when Kansas City radio station 610 KCSP aired the full audio of the argument from the Dubai airport. Although Howe did note that he felt a crime occurred, the DA said he didn't file charges because authorities didn't have enough evidence to know who committed the crime: Hill or his ex-fiancee, Crystal Espinal.

"I can assure you that I will continue to work to be the person, player and teammate that you envisioned me to be", he wrote. For the on-field product, this is exciting news for Chiefs fans given that the team's dynamic offense should be locked in from day one and Hill himself will be motivated to channel these emotions in a healthy direction. The remorsefulness that the Chiefs stated as a factor in their taking a chance on Hill three years ago stands in stark contrast to Hill's comments on the audio recording, in which he blames Espinal for his assault and battery conviction. The 25-year-old had 1,479 receiving yards and 14 total touchdowns (12 receiving, 1 rushing, 1 punt return) last season.
