Trump mocked for 'Prince of Whales' tweet

Trump-whales U.S. President Trump lauds meeting with 'Prince of Whales'

Before you could freak out at his logic, he confused the large sea mammals known as whales with Wales, the country in the Great Britain, and it was hilarious.

In the tweet, he accused media reporting the statement of "fake news".

Mr Trump's tweet was in response to an interview with NBC journalist George Stephanopoulos, in which he suggested he would be open to accepting dirt on his 2020 opponent if it was offered by a foreign power.

In an apparent response to a news article which alleged that Trump "said he'd listen if foreign governments offered him "dirt" on opponents", as the Daily Mail put it, the United States president named several foreign leaders and dignitaries he meets "every day", including the "Prince of Whales" - the apparently misspelled title of Prince Charles. "We talked about 'Everything!'" he wrote.

Trump deleted the tweet and corrected the spelling, but the Aquaman spinoff "Prince of Whales" continued to be the number one trend. I just met with the Queen of England (U.K.), the Prince of Whales, the P.M. of the United Kingdom, the P.M. of Ireland, the President of France and the President of Poland.

President Trump was mocked online today after writing about the "Prince of Whales" in one of his tweets.

'Should I immediately call the Federal Bureau of Investigation about these calls and meetings?

Trump, who is an enthusiastic user of social media and has some 61 million Twitter followers, quickly corrected the original tweet. How ridiculous! I would never be trusted again.

Today is not the first time Mr Trump has posted unedited tweets.

However, rather than ignoring the mistake, the president embraced the spelling error, tweeting six hours later: "Who can figure out the true meaning of "covfefe"???"
