The alleged incident occurred Thursday night on the floor at Oracle Arena in Oakland, California, after the Raptors beat the Golden State Warriors to win the National Basketball Association title and Ujiri tried to join the team on the floor. The Alameda County District Attorney's Office said it expected to look into the matter sometime next week. Ujiri, they say, failed to show them the required credential.

A video from NBC Bay Area appears to show bystanders holding an Alameda County Sheriff's deputy back and Ujiri standing off to the side.

Ujiri pushed and struck a sheriff's deputy in the face after he was denied access to the court and the team's celebration due to a lack of correct credentials, police told the San Francisco Chronicle.

Ujiri, 48, is also in the hard position of needing to navigate this Wizards courtship as his franchise prepares to make its closing case to free agent Kawhi Leonard about staying with the Raptors on a long-term deal. "We're waiting response from @NBA".
