Newcastle United have had no contact from Manchester United for their midfielder Sean Longstaff yet this summer, according to Sky Sports News.

The Mirror continue by explaining that, despite Longstaff's comments about Newcastle recently, Man United are "confident" they can sign him.

Should a deal be sorted, the Premier League club would be under no pressure to sell.

Man Utd have already snapped-up winger Daniel James from Swansea City and they are being linked with a number of defenders such as Harry Maguire and Aaron Wan-Bissaka but Solskjaer is also looking to strengthen his midfield options.

In terms of transfer value, it's stated that United are confident they can take our academy graduate away from the North East for £25million, and hope he will arrive at Old Trafford alongside a new centre-back and right-back.
