He was a punching bag - Wilder unimpressed by Fury's win

Tyson Fury Tyson Fury Dodged Seven Punches In Five Seconds Last Night
Shannon Reynolds | 20 June, 2019, 05:24

After winning the bout, Fury announced his intentions to fight again on September 21 or October 5, "and next year, we're going to hold down Deontay Wilder and make him give me that green [WBC championship] belt".

Around 18 months since his career appeared to be on the scrapheap, Fury again reminded boxing fans why he is one of the most exciting heavyweights in the sport on Saturday night with his destruction of previously undefeated German fighter Schwarz - but it wasn't just the result which impressed, but the manner in which he did it.

The 30-year-old has been building towards a rematch with Wilder ever since that night in California, and it remains the firm objective.

The 33-year-old Wilder is committed to Top Rank's rival Al Haymon and a separate broadcaster in Showtime, but Fury's United Kingdom promoter Warren, who reached an agreement for December's fight before struggling to negotiate an immediate rematch, is confident they will succeed this time.

Tyson Fury batters Tom Schwarz on his way to a second round TKO in Las Vegas. I showed a little bit of speed, boxing skill, my ability to slip and slide out of the way of punches and my ability to finish, which is important, ' added Fury.

"I mean how do you deal with a guy who is 6ft 9in and moves the way he does?" You saw me fight in December but I had to lose 147lbs for that fight.

"This time I had enough training time, I was strong, I was fit, I was ready to put on a show". I've always wanted to stay active, and I'm finally getting the opportunity to. Fury was in performance mode at the MGM Grand Garden before the fight even began.

Jazz Acquire Mike Conley In Blockbuster Trade With Grizzlies
Rubio is set to enter free agency after his contract expired following the 2018-19 campaign. So much like the Davis deal, the reported Conley trade appears to be a win for both sides.

"I wasn't punch-perfect, although it was a good performance I still got hit with one punch, which is one too many times. The foreseeable future is [in the] US for sure", he said.

Fury's marketers have been clever in their efforts to introduce him to the American scene. "I was happy with everything that went on but it was only the start".

But Wilder didn't really rate Fury's win over Schwarz as the war of words between the pair continue.

"There is no doubt in my mind Tyson Fury is the biggest heavyweight in America right now", said 5 Live's Bunce. It doesn't get any bigger than this.

"I was in the auto on the way here with my wife and I said, "I think we've made it, Paris". We're headlining in Vegas, this is it".

Fulfilling a lifelong ambition of finally fighting in the "Sin City", at the revered MGM Grand, he showed a destructive edge he has rarely previously demonstrated to justify the significant interest he has generated in the United States since his fight with Deontay Wilder.

"I came here to have fun and enjoy myself".
