Tuesday on Fox News Channel, Kellyanne Conway, counselor to President Donald Trump, called out Democrats for their "harassment" of Attorney General William Barr. Nadler has proposed having committee staff question Barr about special counsel Robert Mueller's report.
The first hint of discontent surfaced last month when Barr issued a four-page statement that summarized what he said were the main conclusions of the Mueller report.
Barr wants only lawmakers to do the questioning and, according to a source close to the committee, has said he will not come in to testify based on how things now stand.

Since gaining a majority in the House of Representatives after the midterm elections, Democrats have been debating internally on how and when to consider impeachment proceedings against the President, in anticipation of the release of the Mueller report which they had hoped would recommend criminal charges against Trump. The House Ways and Means Committee is pursuing Trump's tax returns, the Intelligence Committee is looking into Trump's businesses and the Judiciary Committee has subpoenaed Justice Department officials for the full report and its underlying intelligence sources.

The vote would allow members or staff to question Barr during the extra hour, which would be divided between Democrats and Republicans. That panel's Democratic chairman, Rep, Jerrold Nadler of NY, said witnesses could too easily filibuster when questioned by lawmakers limited by five-minute time limits.
According to NBC News, House Judiciary Republicans said through a spokesperson that Barr's concerns are valid because Democrats have been "absusive and illogical" in their demands. Nadler "has taken a voluntary hearing and turned it into a sideshow", Collins said.
Barr threatened not to show up to the hearing, claiming he did not like the format of the questioning.
But, he added, "it's an incredibly common practice in the House of Representatives and was a practice long before President Trump or William Barr took their offices and will be a practice long after they're gone". "I think Congress needs to calm down a little bit on this".
