Afternoon temperatures will range from 15 or 16 degrees in the northwest to between 17 and 22 degrees elsewhere.

While the south and east coasts will be slightly cooler due to the onshore breezes, the winds will be light and the nights relatively mild, a forecaster said.

Cloudy skies and lingering rain showers continue, with a cold low of 40 degrees.

Highest temperatures are expected to lie between 15° and 20° in the midlands and east of the country.
