Disney plans to roll out the service in "each major region of the world" in the next two years.

There's no word on when it will end up in the United Kingdom and in other parts around the world, so we'll have to wait and see for more news.

The Disney+ service will be available on a wide range of mobile and connected TV devices, including gaming consoles, streaming media players, and smart TVs, and will adjust to the best possible high definition viewing experience based on a subscriber's available bandwidth, with support for up to 4K HDR video playback. Everything won't be ready to watch on day one of Disney+, but there will be more than enough content available. Subsequent rows are for recommended content, new TV series or movies, and genres.

Disney is planning a whopping 25 original series and 10 movies and specials in the first year alone. Of course, Disney had its own talent on hand, including Favreau, who discussed The Mandalorian and introduced a clip for the new Lion King, which he directed. Other nonfiction series announced include Be Our Chef, Cinema Relics: Iconic Art of the Movies, Earthkeepers, Encore! See the table at the bottom for more details.

Additionally, movies that came out in 2019, and going forward, will be streamed exclusively on Disney Plus.

"The Simpsons" will head to the service, as well as movies and shows including "The Sound of Music" to "Malcolm in the Middle".

The series will debut Into the Unknown: Making Frozen 2, a documentary that goes captures the behind-the-scenes process of making the animated film.

Disney has also sought to differentiate itself from Netflix, with Iger telling analysts last summer that Disney would use its marquee brands to be "in the quality game", as opposed to emphasizing volume. Disney now has a deal with Roku and Playstation to feature Disney+ with other devices expected to follow.

The Fox deal also gave Disney also a controlling stake in Hulu.

Another big question fans have had is if Disney will sneak in behind the scenes and simply change much of what has kept the show on the air for a historic amount of time. "Solo: A Star Wars Story" fell well short of box-office expectations, and most recently a live-action reboot of "Dumbo" is flying far below the stratospheric returns of "Beauty and the Beast".

"We're extremely excited about our growing portfolio of direct-to-consumer offerings". He said Disney "will likely bundle at a discounted price to offer more value for consumers".

Executives said they see opportunities to take its ESPN+ sport streaming video service to Latin America and are looking into worldwide expansion of its Hulu streaming video business, which offers movies and shows targeted to adults.

Disney ended a lucrative licensing relationship with Netflix in order to create the streaming service and faces challenges as it builds a service to compete with the entrenched streaming leaders. Disney believes that its new service can reach millions of viewers globally over the coming years based on a very strong content library and an attractive price that is significantly lower than Netflix's.

Indeed, Disney has already witnessed warning signs, or at least experienced limitations, in leveraging its vast trove of intellectual property.

Marvels What If?, the first animated series from Marvel Studios and takes inspiration from the comic books of the same name.

Disney+ will include content from across the Disney brands, including Walt Disney Animation, Pixar, Marvel, Star Wars, and National Geographic. This is where classic Disney movies were kept from public release until they were each made available for a limited time.
