Disney streaming service set to launch at $7 a month

The best news about this announcement for Nintendo fans is the company's intentions to eventually bring the application to the Switch.

Disney is raising the curtain on a hotly anticipated video steaming service that's aiming to topple industry pioneer Netflix, once a valuable ally. Taken place at its 2019 Investor Day, the service will be offering tons of contents which not only includes from Disney itself but also Pixar, Marvel, Star Wars, National Geographics, and Fox.

Disney Plus will launch November 12 in the U.S. for $7 a month, or $70 a month if you get an annual subscription.

With Disney+, Disney is looking to leverage its extensive lineup of properties across all of its subsidiaries, including Walt Disney Studios., Marvel Studios and Lucasfilm.

In the first year, Disney+ aims to offer up 7,500 television episodes and 500 films from the Disney library.

Another live-action spy series starring "Rogue One" actors Diego Luna and Alan Tudyk was also teased.

Also in the works are live-action films based on animated classics (like Lady and the Tramp, starring Tessa Thompson and Justin Theroux), as well as new series developed from films such as Monsters Inc. and High School Musical.

A new series called "The World According to Jeff Goldblum" will also premiere at launch, promising a unique look at the world around us through the curious mind of actor Jeff Goldblum.
