Somalia's authorities secure the site of an attack after five people were killed including a deputy minister when al-Shabaab militants stormed government buildings in the capital, Mogadishu.
At least five gunmen stormed the building after a suicide auto bombing at the gates.
Saqar Ibrahim Abdalla, Somalia's deputy minister of labor and social affairs, was killed in his ground-floor office shortly after gunmen stormed the building, he said. "We shall give details later", Abdiasis Abu Musab, al-Shabab's military operation spokesman said.
A auto bomb blast rocked the Shangani district of Mogadishu targeting a building housing the ministries of Labour and of General Works, Reconstruction and Housing as well as the Headquarters of Mogadishu regional police.
The al-Qaida-linked al-Shabab extremist group has claimed responsibility for the attack.
