'Several people injured after tram shooting' in Dutch city of Utrecht

The gunman opened fire at around 10.45am local time. "Helicopters are at the scene and no arrests have been made", said police spokesman Joost Lanshage.

Utrecht police said a square at a tram station outside the city centre had been cordoned off as emergency services were at the scene.

The police issued social media appeals asking people to clear the area to allow emergency services vehicles to access the scene.
