49 people are confirmed dead, and at least 40 seriously injured, in one of the world's most malice terror attacks, which took place on Friday across two separate mosques in Christchurch, New Zealand.

During the hearing, Judge Paul Kellar in the Christchurch District Court said it was "reasonable to assume" that the man would face further murder charges.

Officers arrested two others following the attacks and are now working to establish whether they had any involvement in the terror attacks against the Muslim community in New Zealand. At least two Jordanian citizens were killed and five others wounded in the shootings, the country's Foreign Ministry said.

The NYPD also deployed extra officers to mosques throughout the city during early morning prayer services.

"This isn't about cricket", New Zealand Cricket chief executive David White said when discussing the cancellations in his sport.

Australian National Imams Council spokesman Bilal Rauf said that he believed a similar attack to the Christchurch massacre "absolutely" could happen in Australia.

Police said the alleged shooter was arrested in a auto, which was carrying improvised explosive devices, 36 minutes after they were first called.

As New Zealand recovers from this shocking incident, we want to ask you, the readers, if you think the attack proves that terror has no religion.

She said the man was arrested by two "rural community cops" 36 minutes after the first emergency call was made on Friday and was still an active shooter.

Officers said they were trying to track the vehicle and described the suspects as white men believed in their 20s.

Survivors could be seen spilling out of two Christchurch mosques on Friday afternoon with blood covering their clothes after suspected terrorist Brenton Tarrant, 28, unleashed hell. This, according to her, allowed the Australian terrorist to legally obtain the weapons in December 2017, and that he was not on any watch-lists prior to the attacks.

"We do need members of the public to remain vigilant however, and to report anything suspicious to us by calling 111 immediately".

"Suspect had a Category "A" gun license", New Zealand police commissioner Mike Bush said at a press conference on Saturday. He said his mother, who was at the Linwood mosque with his father and brother, saw two people shot.

Ardern called on the USA government to show "sympathy and love for all Muslim communities", and told the press that "the person who has committed this violent act has no place here".

The Australian gunman, who had based himself in Dunedin, used two semi-automatic weapons, two shotguns and a lever-action firearm, Ms Ardern said.

He said New Zealand, with a population of just under 5 million, had an estimated 1.5 million firearms.

Gray's speculation was backed up by a rambling, hate-filled, manifesto Tarrant posted to social media ahead of the Christchurch killings. Neighbouring Australia has virtually banned semi-automatic rifles from private ownership since a lone gunman killed 35 people with assault rifles in 1996.
