Apple confirms 'It's show time' event on 25 March, to likely launch a TV subscription service
13 March, 2019, 08:52
We'll find out more on Monday, March 25 with the event taking place at Apple's headquarters in Cupertino from 10am local time - 5pm GMT.
As for the TV service, which is expected to launch as early as sometime this spring, Apple reportedly has more than two dozen original TV shows already in the works, many of which have been cast, and will eventually debut through their streaming service. The event will take place at the company's new Steve Jobs theater in Cupertino, California.
Apple's tagline was also used in 2006 to launch its Apple TV service and movies on iTunes. Apple's live stream page gives some clues about the launch event. That deal helped the firm launch Apple Music, so we shouldn't completely rule out a similar transaction for its video streamer.
Rumours about the company's new video-streaming services have been around for quite some time.

While Apple has kept quiet about aspirations in this area, it's been quietly acquiring the rights to TV shows for many months.
The event, labeled as "It's Show Time", hints at its focus on subscription services.
Apple has been looking to double its annual services revenue from the $25 billion it posted in fiscal 2016 to $50 billion by fiscal 2020. The company was rumoured to be holding an event on March 25 before, and it's now sending out official invites to the press this evening. Apple is said to charge $10 to its consumers for the premium news subscription services. If you're not ready to fork out extra cash for Apple's newest 2018 iPad Pro models, the 9.7-inch iPad still makes for a great device at a fraction of the price.
