The 200 pages of charging documents in the case were unsealed in Boston federal court.

Federal authorities also charged current and former college coaches, administrators of college entrance exam, CEOs, and others in federal court. Coaches allegedly accepted bribes in exchange for admitting students as athletes, regardless of their ability.

According to the indictment, the scheme focused on getting students admitted to elite universities as recruited athletes and helping potential students cheat on their college exams.

ABC News is reporting that documents appear to show that many of those indicted paid up to $6 million to high-ranking colleges including Yale, Stanford, Georgetown and the University of Southern California.

In many instances, the children were unaware that their parents had paid these bribes according to federal documents.

Huffman allegedly paid $15,000 for her oldest daughter and began the process for her second child but ultimately abandoned the plan because she was anxious a fixed score would "set off alarm bells".

Federal agents secretly recorded telephone calls with Huffman and a cooperating witness, according to the court papers.
