New Zealand Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern has said she wants to discuss live streaming with Facebook, and some of the country's firms are considering whether to pull advertising from social media.

Hati Mohemmed Daoud Nabi, 71, opened the door to the Al Noor mosque.

"He may have sought notoriety", Ardern said. "But he will, when I speak, be nameless", Ardern told her country's parliament.

She declared she would never speak the name of the alleged perpetrator, vowing to deny him the platform he sought for his extremist views. "Not even his name".

Police say they're highly aware of the exasperation and having completed autopsies, are working as fast as possible to formally identify the bodies.

"While identification may seem straightforward, the reality is much more complex, particularly in a situation like this".

Families have been waiting for their loved ones' bodies to be returned for burial as investigators have needed to undertake examination processes.

"That is why you will never hear me mention his name. That you have great potential in your heart", said Farhid Ahmed, 59.

A community welfare centre has been set up near the hospital in Christchurch to help all those affected by the attack. Nine of them are in a critical condition. A four-year-old girl is in criticial condition in an Auckland children's hospital, with her injured father now nearby.

The gunman used a semi-automatic AR-15 during the mosque shootings, police said.

It is the latest in a series of gatherings taking place across New Zealand to show solidarity with the victims.

Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern said Monday that the Cabinet will work out the details of the reforms and share them with the public by next Monday.

"He will face the full force of the law in New Zealand".

Miss Ardern also recalled the heroism of people on the day of the attack.

Kawthar Abulaban, 54, who survived the shooting at the Al Noor Mosque, came to the burial site to see the preparations.

Elsewhere in New Zealand, police are probing a suspicious blaze that's destroyed a small gun club.

The PM said told parliament she would look at what could be done "on the worldwide stage and in unison with our partners". The Nationals draw support from rural areas, where gun ownership is high. "We will examine what we did know, could have known or should have known".

"I will not change my opinion about New Zealand".

Ardern also criticized social media platforms for hosting the gunman's livestream of the attack. They are the publisher. Not just the postman.

"There can not be a case of all profit, no responsibility", warned Miss Ardern. "We are united in fighting violent hatred and racism", he added.

In 2012, in the aftermath of the shooting at a movie theater in Aurora, Colorado, then-President Barack Obama told victims' relatives he would not use the shooter's name in an effort to avoid giving him more attention, according to Politico reporting at the time.

The Bangladesh cricket team, now on tour in New Zealand, narrowly avoided being caught up in the attacks.

Legal experts have said that if Tarrant is charged with 50 counts of murder, rather than under the Terrorism Act, he would be less likely to be able to use the trial as a forum to promote his views.
