The Prime Minister says she is determined to press on to get her Brexit deal through Parliament but has conceded she will miss the deadline of March 29.

His intervention came after May was forced to seek an extension of the Article 50 process that set the UK's original departure date as March 29 as she prepared for a crunch meeting at the EU summit, held by the European Council, to make the case for more time.

He added: "I have never felt more ashamed to be a member of the Conservative Party or be asked to lend her support".

"Even if the hope for a final success may seem frail, even illusory, and although Brexit fatigue is increasingly visible and justified, we can not give up seeking until the very last moment a positive solution", Tusk said in Brussels.

May said in London late on Wednesday that she opposed any further postponement, telling parliament to pick between her deal, a no-deal divorce, or no Brexit. You are tired of the infighting, you're tired of the political games and the arcane procedural rows, tired of MPs talking about nothing else but Brexit when you have real concerns about our children's schools, our National Health Service, knife crime.

Hardline Tory Brexiters will welcome this ultimatum, because they believe a no-deal Brexit is better than Theresa May's deal and the prospect of Brexit now being delayed until after May now seems very slim. "It is now time for MPs to decide", in a statement at Downing Street today.

Her plan to hold a third vote this week was dramatically blocked by parliamentary Speaker John Bercow, who said May could not keep bringing the same deal back to MPs without substantive changes.

"It would be a failure to deliver on the referendum decision this House said it would deliver".

It followed a day of rampant speculation over whether she would call an election, a second referendum, or announce a new strategy to avoid a no-deal scenario, which the United Kingdom is 9 days away from.

They want to commit to a close post-Brexit economic relationship with the bloc to ease disruption for businesses and citizens.

The court has also allowed the sale of 11 vehicles belonging to Modi after an application from the Enforcement Directorate . However, Modi's counsel argued that Modi arrived here in January 2018 before any allegations were made against him.

But he said that the extension - which must be agreed unanimously by the EU27 - was likely to be conditional on Mrs May succeeding in forcing her twice-rejected Brexit deal through Parliament.

'Motion after motion and amendment after amendment has been tabled without Parliament ever deciding what it wants.

Her announcement that she was asking for a three-month delay caused uproar in the chamber. "Prime Minister, which is it to be?"

"The specific request the Prime Minister is putting to the European Union is not one that is backed by anything more than a small minority of the British public", said YouGov founder Peter Kellner.

British Prime Minister Theresa May on Wednesday asked the European Union on Wednesday to delay Brexit until June 30.

"We have reacted with patience and goodwill to numerous turns of events and I am confident that also now we will not lack the same patience and goodwill at this most critical point in this process".

He did not comment on the possibility - which he himself has suggested - that another option such as a longer delay might be offered to avoid a painful no-deal exit if May's deal was voted down again.

Britain's political chaos has drawn reactions ranging from sympathy to scorn at home and around the world.

Any hope that Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn would emerge as a unifying figure were called into doubt last night after he refused to attend a meeting with May when he saw Chuka Umunna - who recently quit his party - was also invited.
