Before the idea of Bohemian Rhapsody 2 got too much hype, a publicist for producer Graham King said there is no truth to the Bohemian Rhapsody sequel rumors, according to Slash Film. We probably (definitely) haven't seen the last of Freddie Mercury's story on the big screen.

Dolezal, who directed videos for the band, and became close with late Freddie Mercury during his life, gave a hint on a possible sequel during an interview about Queen's manager Jim Beach.

Dolezal told Page Six that a follow-up film is now "being heavily discussed in the Queen family" and would likely pick up with the band's Live Aid performance. In an interview with Page Six, Dolezal has confirmed that a follow-up film is "being heavily discussed in the Queen family".

After grossing $870 million worldwide, the cast of Bohemian Rhapsody could be returning for an encore.

Rami Malek, victor of Best Actor for "Bohemian Rhapsody", poses in the press room at the 91st Annual Academy Awards at Hollywood and Highland on February 24, 2019 in Hollywood, California.

As detailed on ABC's website, The Show Must Go On "chronicles Queen and Lambert's incredible journey since they first shared the stage together on American Idol in 2009". The rock biopic won four Oscars last month and was nominated for best picture.

Dolezal's comment about a sequel seemed to support Queen guitarist Brian May hinting at a followup, as he noted a year ago, "I think Live Aid is a good point to leave it".

"I think Live Aid [where Rhapsody leaves off] is a good point to leave it". The film concludes with the band's iconic 1985 performance of Live Aid before giving way to a brief summary about Mercury's battle with AIDS and his death in November 1991. "Who knows, there might be a sequel". After all, the band did distance themselves from Sacha Baron Cohen's original biopic project.
