Cory Booker is gearing up to announce his intentions to seek the Democratic nomination for the presidency in 2020, according to a report from The Hill.

Sen. Cory Booker, D-N.J., visits Masterpiece Barber College as he campaigns for Nevada Democratic candidates in October 2018 in Las Vegas, Nev.

Democratic nominating contests begin in February 2020 in the traditional starting point of Iowa. Booker plans to head to Iowa February 8-9 and then to SC on February 10.

But that list of candidates is expected to grow in the coming weeks, with the decisions of former Vice President Joe Biden, former Rep. Beto O'Rourke of Texas and Sanders looming largest over the shape of the field.

While Booker attempted to channel the Civil Rights movement, his announcement video arguably represents the more divisive identity politics of the modern Left, rather than the inclusive identity politics of Martin Luther King, Jr.'s movement.

In addition to questions over style there are, perhaps more seriously, others over substance, specifically Mr Booker's ties to Wall Street and the pharmaceutical industry.

In what he touted as his "Spartacus" moment, Booker claimed to have released confidential committee documents during the contentious confirmation process for Justice Brett Kavanaugh. But in a field where there is no clear front-runner, he brings a raw political talent that some Democrats believe could set him apart and make him a powerful contender. A prominent Booker supporter, San Francisco attorney Steve Phillips, says he is working on millions of dollars in committed donations to a so-called super PAC that would boost the senator's candidacy, but Booker's campaign is openly against super PACs playing any role in the presidential race. "Together, we will channel our common pain back into our common goal". Booker has promised not to accept money from SuperPAC's and lobbyists in his presidential campaign.

Reflecting its central place in Booker's story, Newark will be the headquarters for his campaign. Elizabeth Warren, New York Sen.

Ben Affleck Not Returning for 'Batman' Standalone Film
Ben Affleck has earlier played Batman in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, Suicide Squad and Justice League . The actor went on to scotch rumours he was giving up the role, saying he was "so excited to be Batman ".

But that doesn't mean the 49-year-old's path to the nomination will be easy. Booker also regularly interacted with constituents on Twitter.

It will be hard to find a more gifted orator in the 2020 Democratic field than the New Jersey senator. Booker and a group of residents dug out four vehicles that were stuck.

He played for his high school football team before going on to attend a number of top universities, including Stanford, Oxford and eventually Yale Law School. They added that Booker - who turns 50 in April - will return to New Hampshire over President's Day weekend.

Mr Booker has always been touted as a rising star of the Democratic Party.

As a talented and ambitious black politician, Booker has elicited predictable comparisons to former President Barack Obama, whom he endorsed during the 2008 primary and campaigned for in 2012.

Booker also did not take the express lane to a presidential bid, as Obama did.

After working as a public-interest attorney and housing advocate in Newark, Booker chose to run for the city's municipal council in 1998. Where else will Booker gain strength? Booker recently described Carter as a "moral (giant) in America" and a model for "what I want my message to be in leadership".
