Microsoft Wants You To Stay Away From Internet Explorer

Internet Explorer Stop using Internet Explorer warns Microsoft's own security chief

In one of the posts uploaded by the company called "The perils of using Internet Explorer as your default browser", Microsoft's Chris Jackson told everyone that it should end using Internet Explorer.

It's no secret that Microsoft isn't the biggest fan of the old Internet Explorer browser but since they introduced Microsoft Edge years ago they have been saying that they would not be supporting Internet Explorer.

While numerous users these days either use Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox, some firms still depend on Internet Explorer for web apps that have been built using the old infrastructure.

He explains that if Microsoft carried on supporting older browsers, then it would encourage users to work with a browser with which modern web standards simply weren't designed leading them to "miss out on a progressively larger portion of the web". Microsoft has made it clear that Internet Explorer is not a viable browser and the company doesn't want anything to do with it anymore.

"Internet Explorer is a compatibility solution", writes Jackson.

Some firms still rely on Internet Explorer because their websites were built during the browser's heyday and use the infrastructure behind it.

However, Edge has struggled to make a mark due to stiff competitors like Chrome, Firefox, and Safari.

Microsoft's replacement for Internet Explorer, Edge, has performed abysmally in terms of market share, thanks in no small part to its youth leading to a limited ecosystem of extensions. Get up to date, get the most out of the web and your business.

Microsoft is said to be making a new browser similar to Google Chrome but not a lot of details are known about it only that this new browser will be ready for testing in the coming weeks.

Jackson said that developers now no longer test on the legacy Web browser, but instead use "modern browsers". It should be noted that Microsoft don't even support Internet Explorer anymore, since the company announced back in 2016 that they will be killing support for Internet Explorer 8, Internet Explorer 9 and Internet Explorer 10.
