Paul Manafort shared polling data on Donald Trump's 2016 campaign with a Ukrainian associate who has ties to Russian intelligence, and also met with the colleague in Madrid while working on the presidential campaign, according to a court filing from Manafort's lawyers published Tuesday.

In remarks Thursday morning before he departed to the Texas border, President Trump repeated there was "no collusion" and he did not know "anything" about Manafort sharing the data.

Asked if he wanted the special counsel's final report to be made public, Trump told reporters: "There's been no collusion whatsoever - we'll have to see".

Manafort's defense team was responding to Mueller's accusations that he lied to the special counsel's investigators about his contacts with Russians during the campaign after pleading guilty a year ago.

No emergency declaration to end U.S. govt shutdown
Trump originally pledged Mexico would pay for the wall, which he says is needed to stem the flow of illegal immigrants and drugs. President, Declare a national emergency NOW". "It's absurd, the arguments that are being made right now", he said.

The filings show special counsel Robert Mueller, who is investigating Russian interference in the 2016 election, accused Manafort of sending campaign polling data to Konstantin Kilimnik, a former business associate of Manafort with connections in the GRU, Russia's military intelligence agency. "At the time, the special counsel had been digging into Manafort's finances and political work ahead of his trial". He reportedly worked for Manafort conducting polls in Ukraine during the country's political campaigns in 2012 and 2013, earning a quarter of a million dollars.

He said that agreement would be a "conspiracy", whether or not the Trump campaign actually got anything of value from the Russians. A spokesman for Manafort's defense team declined to comment on the incomplete redactions or on Mueller's allegations, but lawyers later filed a corrected version of the document. President Trump denies any campaign collusion with Russian Federation.

The sharing of the polling data with Kilimnik was revealed this week, despite being redacted in a court filing, due to a formatting error.

Giuliani also said on Wednesday that Trump's legal team told Mueller that the president will not answer any more questions in the investigation. Manafort pleaded guilty in September to conspiracy charges related to that Ukraine work, and had agreed to cooperate truthfully with Mueller's team. Manafort earned $60 million for his work in Ukraine, and was convicted a year ago of financial fraud after hiding the money overseas to avoid paying United States taxes.
