Robey-Coleman admitted that the play was pass interference after the game, but the blown has caused protests in New Orleans and a even a proposed boycott of the Super Bowl.

The closest the league has come to publicly admitting that something went wrong on the play came Friday when Robey-Coleman was hit with a $26,000 fine for an illegal helmet-to-helmet hit on Lewis.

This fine isn't necessarily the National Football League admitting it got the call wrong, but it does show that at the very least, the referees should've thrown a flag for an illegal hit, as many fans have said already.

Tommylee Lewis of the Saints drops a pass broken up by Nickell Robey-Coleman of the Rams during the fourth quarter in the NFC Championship game.

The BYU student section (the ROC) did its best to ride Vinovich throughout the game, chanting the notorious official's name after he made a call on several occasions.

With the league refusing to release a statement on the matter, that should make things interesting for next week, when Roger Goodell is scheduled to meet with the media for his annual Super Bowl week press conference (Jan. 30).

Male Los Angeles Rams cheerleaders will make history at Super Bowl LIII
They'll take on the NFC champion Los Angeles Rams , and this time, Edelman will be much more than a spectator. She's like a little good luck charm.

The controversial non-call was a major factor in the Rams' 26-23 overtime victory last Sunday that earned the club a Super Bowl berth.

"Commissioner Goodell. We all realize that football is an imperfect game, played, coached and officiated by imperfect people", Watson's Twitter statement began.

If the pass were caught, New Orleans would've had a first down - which potentially would have allowed it to run down the clock before a game-winning field goal.

They're not done talking about it in New Orleans, however. In overtime, Los Angeles kicked a 57-yard field goal to win and advance to the Super Bowl. "If a (penalty) is not called, we thought they were holding Aaron Donald or something".

"Every drunk sitting on a stool in every bar throughout the nation looked up at that TV and said there's interference", Cassidy said.

BAXTER PLAYS BIG: BYU freshman Gavin Baxter received the minutes a lot of fans feel he's been warranted in Thursday's game, and responded as most would have hoped.
