Man Treated In Dublin Hospital After Injecting Himself With Own Semen

In a new case study, Irish doctors report the baffling case of a 33-year-old man who injected his own semen intravenously for a year and a half, a self-developed "cure" meant to treat his chronic back pain.

The 33-year-old man developed a cure for his chronic back pain.

The medics stated that "upon further interrogation of this alternative therapy, he revealed he had injected one monthly "dose" of semen for 18 consecutive months using a hypodermic needle which had been purchased online". The IMJ report said he devised the "cure" independent of any medical advice.

The man had most recently given himself three "doses" of semen, intravenously and intramuscularly.

Over the next 24 hours, the swelling and redness progressed over his entire forearm.

The patient complained of sudden and severe lower back pain and inserted the semen on his own accord as part of an "innovative" way of treating the pain.

Talk about toxic masculinity: An Irish man wound up with a serious skin infection after injecting himself with his own semen, according to a recent report of his unusual case.

Although there is a report of the effects of semen injection into rats and rabbits, there were no cases of intravenous semen injections into humans found across the literature, authors reported.

The journal reports that this is believed to be the first reported medical case of the injection of semen for such a objective, and went on to say that even in research of "more eclectic internet sites", they could not find any cases of human injection of semen. However, before doctors were able to perform a routine surgery to cut and drain the collection, the patient made a decision to discharge himself.

The only other medical study involving sperm injections took place in 1945, by scientists at the University of Glasgow.

Dr Dunne also said that the lessons of the case could be applied "on a broader scale" as it demonstrates the risks involved with medical experimentation "prior to extensive clinical research".
