Liverpool have rewarded Andy Robertson with a new five-year deal, contracting him to the club until 2024.

The Scotland global still has three-and-a-half years remaining on the terms he signed when he initially joined from Hull City in the summer of 2017 but he has made giant strides since that £8million move.

Andrew Robertson becomes the latest Liverpool player to sign a long-term deal.

'It was a pretty easy contract for me and I'm sure for the club as well.

"Our supporters have fallen in love with him, he has fallen in love with them - and both he and his fantastic young family are very much at home in Liverpool".

'Getting to know the lads and working with all the staff at Melwood has been a pleasure.

Baby girl breaks into infectious laughter after hearing her sister’s voice
Scarlet was born 3 months early and suffered a serious infection early on, her mother, Carol Dianne Benjamin, wrote on Facebook. Scarlet Benjamin, 11 months, had a hearing aid fitting at Atlanta Hearing Associates in Milledgeville, Georgia, on January 10.

"Why? Because I tipped them at the start, and they've given me a run for the money and that's what I wanted because you look at City and the amount of points that City have accrued last season and they look like they're more than capable of doing the same thing again".

"I remember when we signed him back in the summer of 2017, I spoke a lot about "his story, his journey" and how much I loved it and thought it pointed to the type of person and player he would be for us".

Michael Edwards, Liverpool's Sporting Director, was in discussions with Robertson's representatives for a prolonged period.

Trent Alexander-Arnold is out with an ankle injury and will miss around a month of football but Liverpool will have Joe Gomez back in action next week.

The 20-year-old is now sidelined with a knee ligament issue which only came to light after last weekend's 1-0 win at Brighton.

With the tricky Wilfried Zaha visiting Anfield this weekend with Crystal Palace, Fabinho can also deputise at right back while James Milner is more than capable as a fullback.
