Just three days later, he stepped down after homophobic tweets from eight years ago re-emerged; he said he's already apologized for the tweets and that he's not the same person he was at that time. "I apologize", he said on his show.
Hart added that with his future standup and comedy acts, he would also make sure he doesn't say or do anything offensive towards the community. Hart on going over his past remarks: "I really had to dive into the whole thing, even the tweets. Where does the equality part come in?"
Hart has also said he previously addressed the controversial tweets and stand-up routines, but outlets including CNN and New York Magazine's Vulture could find evidence of an apology until after Hart chose to step down.
"I shouldn't have to prove who I am", Hart said Wednesday. Shortly after, reports have floated that ABC is open to Hart returning hosting the Oscars, which have flagged in viewership over the past few years.
'If you keep feeding this energy, then it's going to grow, ' he said.
Kevin added the landscape of the world has changed now, particularly with the prevalence of social media, and he regrets the way he spoke on his Twitter page.
Hart later came to her defense, saying: 'When did we get to the point where we forgot that we all learn, then we all have the ability to grow and with that growth comes a wealth of knowledge.
