Keep your new smartphone powered up with Anker's Qi Wireless Charging Pad

AT&T Power Drum Is a 2-in-1 Apple Watch and iPhone Wireless Charger With 3000mAh Integrated Battery Keep your new smartphone powered up with Anker's Qi Wireless Charging Pad

The wireless charger provides power at 5W. By and large, devices that support wireless charging have to remain relatively close to a given charging station to receive power. But AT&T's Power Drum seems like it is going to be one of the better ones.

The wireless charger supports charging at up to 10W, which is higher than the 7.5W the iPhone is limited to. Sure it could, but my guess is that if Apple has gone as far as to wipe it from its website, it will be a rebooted product, possibly coinciding with new hardware (if Apple unified its charging protocols for different devices, that would go a long way to making AirPower easier to pull off). It's possible the final version of the Power Drum will come with a USB Type-C port.

What do you readers think about AT&T filing for a 2-in-1 wireless charger for iPhones and Apple Watches?

"During each of its events this year (2018) - one in March where it announced new iPads, its developer conference in June, the annual iPhone event in September and a Mac event in October - Apple failed to mention AirPower or its status", the report added. A release date is unavailable at the moment.

Overall, the AT&T Power Drum appears to be a decent product, but there is one drawback. Rather than mess about with different chargers and cords, AirPower was supposed to offer a single charging mat that users could place their devices onto and have them charge simultaneously. Apple had said it would launch in 2018, but it never did.

Although there are no signs of Apple's AirPower wireless charging mat, a recent patent application suggests the company could still be working on the product.

Additionally, the patent notes that Apple's wireless charging mat "can implement" other charging technologies as well, like the Power Matters Alliance's technology.
