A Utah man is suing actress Gwyneth Paltrow for a "hit-and-run ski crash" on the slopes at Deer Valley - alleging she hit him and then skied away as he lay in the snow with serious injuries.

Dr. Terry Sanderson alleged in court documents filed on Tuesday and obtained by Page Six that Paltrow, 46, had been skiing "out of control" on February 26, 2016, when she ran into him and left him alone to tend to his injuries. They left him at the scene with serious brain injuries caused by Ms. Paltrow'.

Mr Sanderson claims in the lawsuit that the 46-year-old actor left him injured on the mountain and did not send for help. Sanderson is asking for damages in excess of $3.1 million.

The doctor also claimed a Deer Valley ski instructor, Eric Christiansen, who accompanied the actress, filed a false report alleging Paltrow did not cause the crash. Sanderson is also suing the resort over the incident.

Sanderson says he reached out to Paltrow and when he had a conversation with her lawyer, he says the lawyer blamed him for the collision.

Making the whole matter even more traumatic, apparently Paltrow "scream [ed] like King Kong" before hitting Sanderson, which is the kind of mental image I will now have to shove deep into my psyche, only for it to inevitably return during my next sleep paralysis episode. "I would like my truth to be told".

She also gave the resort the ultimate endorsement when she did a Park City & Deer Valley Guide on GOOP.

The office for the attorney representing Paltrow in the case, Stephen Owens of Salt Lake City, declined comment and referred inquiries to Paltrow's spokeswoman. Sanderson said he doesn't remember anything beyond being struck in the back and losing control of his body as he was thrust forward with somebody on his back. "What did you do?"

That Oscar victor then proceeded to get up and ski away, without checking on Sanderson or offering any assistance according to the legal filing.

Sykes claims Paltrow violated the reckless skiing provision of the Summit County code, which requires a skier to stay at the scene of a crash to make sure the other skier is ok.
