Chelsea 'want Callum Hudson-Odoi buy-back clause'

"As you know very well I am not involved in the market". So overpaying them puts pressure on the club to earn some of it back but also puts the player in a hard position because their expectations are raised at say 18 about what they think they should be earning. I am happy with the player because he is improving, improving a lot in the defensive phase.

The Blues appointed Sarri as Antonio Conte's replacement in the summer.

The Blues have been busy bees in the transfer window with a number of players linked with a move and away from the club.

Coach Maurizio Sarri is a fan of Willian, and although he thinks he can improve - he says he does not want to lose him.

The only way to really find out if Hudson-Odoi is good enough, which I think he is, is for Sarri to give him a run in the team but it doesn't look like that's going to happen.

They are three points ahead of Arsenal and six points above rejuvenated Manchester United, hence, Saturday's game is a very important clash they can't afford to perform below expectations.

Chelsea, however, have not given up hope of changing Hudson-Odoi's mind, and Sarri - who picked the 18-year-old to start against Tottenham in the Carabao Cup semifinal first leg at Wembley on Tuesday - hit out at Bayern.

Saudi Arabia confirmed for the first time that Dallas-based consultants DeGolyer and MacNaughton carried out the audit. The oil behemoth has so far largely avoided bond markets, relying nearly exclusively on its own cash or bank loans.

Bayern sporting director Hasan Salihamidzic said on Wednesday that the 18-year-old has the qualities his side want amid reports of repeated bids for the winger.

"We are very happy with the player because he is improving".

But, having helped England win the Under-17 World Cup, Hudson-Odoi could follow the same path taken by his global teammate Jadon Sancho, who has impressed for Borussia Dortmund since leaving Manchester City for Germany.

"He is one of the best (young players) in Europe. To stay here is better for him", the Italian said.

Eden Hazard will continue in his unfamiliar "false 9" position while Barcelona target Willian gets another opportunity to prove his doubters wrong.

Hudson-Odoi, who largely operates as a left winger, has scored once and provided three assists in 12 first-team appearances for Chelsea.

However, Sarri has urged him to stay and fight for his place and moved to condemn Bayern's public pursuit of Chelsea's academy graduate.
