The White House has suspended the press pass of CNN correspondent Jim Acosta after he and President Donald Trump had a heated confrontation during a news conference. The way you treat Sarah Huckabee is terrible, and the way you treat other people is awful. They also took away his "hard pass", the name given to the White House grounds pass which is issued to reporters accredited to cover the White House.

Looking back at Acosta, who again rose up in his own defence, Trump added: "When you report fake news, which CNN does a lot, you are the enemy of the people".

Acosta also tweeted a video of a Secret Service official taking his White House credential from him.

"They can play that game, but we can play it better", he said.

Acosta asked Trump if he thought he had "demonized" migrants by calling the group an "invasion".

Speaking on his LBC show, he said: "The White House is now telling lies. You and I have a difference of opinion". That means, come January, the gavels for key congressional committees will pass from Republican legislators to Democrats, who are certain in a target-rich environment to issue subpoenas and hold hearings on matters ranging from alleged collusion between Russian Federation and Trump's 2016 election campaign to questionable spending on travel by members of the president's Cabinet.

As more clashes with reporters followed, Trump, exasperated but energised, summed up what is sure to be repeated at the rallies where chants of "CNN sucks!" have become a favorite chorus. It's slowed down and then sped up at the moment Acosta's hand comes down to make it look like he's doing a karate chop or something.

Mr Acosta persisted, saying: "They are hundreds of miles away".

"You are a rude, awful person", Trump told Acosta.

Mr Acosta stood up and began to ask a question relating to the statements Mr Trump made at the end of the midterms campaign.

She will succeed the first Muslim congressman, Keith Ellison, who vacated the seat to run for Minnesota's Attorney General. Key gains for the Republicans came in Indiana, Missouri and North Dakota, where they unseated Democrat incumbents.

Trump was dodging Acosta's questions regarding a wide range of subjects, including the Russian Federation investigation and the group of migrants traveling from Central America toward the U.S., when a White House intern walked up to take his microphone away.

He said that until the revocation, Sessions' departure was likely to be the topic of Acosta's and others' reporting this evening. "You aren't the best", Trump told Alexander. In between the two questions, Trump attempted to move on, but Acosta refused.

"CNN should be ashamed of itself having you work for them", the president said to Mr Acosta. "Jim Acosta is always the story".

CNN said "this president's ongoing attacks on the press have gone too far", in a statement.

Backlash surrounding Wednesday's fiery press conference with President Trump continues. I think they're trying to shut us down.

"I'm talking to this gentleman". You and I disagree on this, ' Trump said.

Media analysts said a concerted action by the press was unlikely.

He said she was rude for interrupting another reporter, though he did briefly answer one of Ms Ryan's questions. "Some people saw that as emboldening white nationalists".

"I love our country", Trump told Alcindor.
