According to a report by Dawn.com Ali was executed in the presence of both Magistrate Adil Sarwar and the girl's father. "Her mother is devastated from grief".

In a swift justice, the authorities in Pakistan executed the man, who raped seven-year-old Zainab Fatima Ameen in Pakistan in January this year, on Wednesday morning.

The deceased father had asked the court to publicly hang the convict but the court took out the death sentence inside the jail premise on October 17.

The anger over the burgeoning cases of child sexual abuse and sexual assault of minors in Kasur, after an alleged paedophile ring linked to a prominent local family was discovered, reached a crescendo with the rape and murder of Zainab Ansari, an eight-year-old, who was abducted on January 4 and found murdered by the police on January 9.

Mr Ansari's earlier appeal for Ali to face a public hanging was dismissed by the Lahore High court.

Police said there had been several similar child murders in the past two years in Kasur but her killing proved to be a tipping point.

Guy & Marie Battle Over Elizabeth Warren’s DNA Test
Moya-Smith claimed that there had been "not a peep" from Warren about the sexual abuse occurring to Native American individuals. Warren responded with a tweet accusing Trump of racism, and clarifying the distinction between DNA and tribal citizenship.

The murder had sparked country-wide protests, mounting pressure on the police to start investigation and arrest the culprit. Two people were killed in clashes.

Imran was arrested two weeks after Zainab's body was found. Reuters reported police say they found DNA evidence linking him to the death of the girl and seven other girls.

24-year-old Imran Ali was handed out the death sentence in February this year, a month after he committed the crime.

Relatives, not police, had recovered CCTV footage of her last movements. Widely circulated on social media with the hashtag #JusticeForZainab later went viral, with many Pakistanis calling for action.

In total, Ali has been sentenced to 21 counts of death, three life sentences and a cumulative 23 years in jail.
