Brothers Billy and Mako Vunipola both went off injured in Saracens' 13-3 Champions Cup victory over Glasgow on Sunday, putting their participation in England's Autumn internationals in doubt.

"Nick Isiekwe, Billy Vunipola and Mako Vunipola are set for a spell on the sidelines", Saracens said in a statement.

Mako Vunipola limped off with a calf strain and Nick Isiekwe is waiting to see a specialist after spraining his ankle on the artificial surface at Scotstoun.

The 25-year-old needs surgery and will be out of action for up to 12 weeks.

Mako Vunipola's potential November Test absence would prove another blow to an England pack already missing fellow experienced loosehead prop Joe Marler, who has opted to retire from worldwide rugby.

AFM in 22 states: Centers for Disease Control and Prevention
From August 2014 through September 2018, the CDC received information on a total of 386 confirmed cases of AFM across the country. Parents should seek medical care right away if their child develops sudden weakness or loss of muscle tone in the arms and legs.

The news around Vunipola will make grim reading for Eddie Jones whose options at No.8 are dwindling ahead of their four-Test November programme.

Sam Simmonds was already out after tearing knee ligaments and Nathan Hughes faces a disciplinary hearing on Wednesday.

Lock Joe Launchbury had knee surgery last week and winger Anthony Watson was also already ruled out of the November tests.

His absence will put a significant dent in England and boss Jones' resources for next month's clashes with South Africa, New Zealand, Japan and Australia.

Meanwhile, Champions Cup holders Leinster are also in the early "assessment" stage of their injury concerns.
