Lindsey Buckingham sues Fleetwood Mac, blames Stevie Nicks for getting him fired

Lindsey Buckingham Opens Up About Fleetwood Mac Firing Lindsey Buckingham says Stevie Nicks got him fired from Fleetwood Mac

Fleetwood Mac's legend is built upon the tangle of its relationships, and when it comes down to it this doesn't look like something that looks to be ending anytime soon. In fact, Buckingham said that he has not spoken with any of his former Fleetwood Mac bandmates - Nicks, drummer Mick Fleetwood, bassist John McVie, and singer-keyboard player Christine McVie, with whom Buckingham recorded a duet album just past year - since the January concert at Radio City Music Hall.

Buckingham joined Fleetwood Mac in 1975 with his then-girlfriend Stevie Nicks; and steered the band through its most commercially successful era before leaving in 1987.

"It's impossible for the band to offer comment on a legal complaint they have not seen", a spokesperson for Fleetwood Mac said in a statement to Rolling Stone.

According to documents filed in Los Angeles County Superior Court, Buckingham is suing his former band mates for "breach of fiduciary duty, breach of oral contract and intentional interference with prospective economic advantage". Buckingham talks about the phone calls that led to his firing, along with his personal reaction to the news and his solo tour around the newly released collection of solo cuts, The Best of Lindsey Buckingham.

But tensions were building, Fleetwood said, because Buckingham would not sign off on a new tour they'd been planning for a year and a half. "And it's not a question that Lindsey has huge amounts of respect and kudos to what he's done within the ranks of Fleetwood Mac and always will", Fleetwood said. They subsequently hired Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers guitarist Mike Campbell and Neil Finn of Crowded House to round out the lineup.

Esther McVey won't say if she backs PM's European Union trade plan
Such an arrangement would all but end May's chances of securing free trade deals with other countries. The U.K.is slated to leave the European Union on March 29.

For their part, Fleetwood Mac contend Buckingham was replaced because he wouldn't commit to touring with the band in 2018.

Now in an interview with Rolling Stone, Buckingham gave his account of just what really happened.

Buckingham was so convinced Nicks was quitting the band he sent an email to Fleetwood Mac founder Mick Fleetwood, insisting the band could go on without her but got no response. Which makes one wonder what the true motivations are when servicing press first with a legal complaint before the parties in disputes.

Like we said, have your popcorn at the ready! The second was that he reportedly had an outburst before the intro music of "Rhiannon" played. "That's me being very specific about the right and wrong way to do something".
