Gillum, DeSantis Face Off In Final Televised Debate Tonight On CBS

In the Florida gubernatorial debate Wednesday even, Democrat Andrew Gillum delivered a deeply biting rebuke to Republican Ron DeSantis' troubling history of allying with demonstrated racists. "He has spoken at racist conferences".

Well, let me first say my grandmother used to say, "A hit dog will holler".

Gillum's campaign later said that the candidate got the ticket from his brother Marcus, who had swapped a JayZ concert ticket for it. Gillum accused DeSantis of having ties to racists.

When debate moderator Todd McDermott brought up Horowitz to DeSantis in the previous question, the former Republican congressman interrupted him - no question was ever posed aloud - to suggest he was unaware of the provocateur's racist past. DeSantis interrupted the question, though, blurting out, "How in the hell am I supposed to know every single statement someone makes?" DeSantis said, before pivoting to an attack on the press, declaring, "I am not going to bow down to the altar of media correctness".

I hope that after Gillum serves as Governor, he decides to run for President because I sure would like to vote for someone who doesn't hold back in calling out the racism of his opponents.

Gillum made the remarks during a Facebook Live video.

Over the last week, Clay County Sheriff Darryl Daniels has increasingly taken the regional lead in excoriating Democratic gubernatorial nominee Andrew Gillum.

Gillum has maintained that he believed his brother, and not the undercover agent, "Mike Miller", paid for the ticket. "I arrived at the theater and received my ticket from my brother", Gillum said.

Thursday's DeSantis rally with Vice President Mike Pence saw Daniels assert that he had been pressured to support Gillum based on the "hue of his skin".

DeSantis also ripped Gillum for accepting a trip to Costa Rica from a lobbyist who then won a $2 million contract from the city. DeSantis called Gillum corrupt.

At issue is a text message from a man identified as former lobbyist Adam Corey. My wife and I take vacations and we pay for our own vacations ...

"He wants you to believe that he's not under investigation", said DeSantis.

The corruption scandal surrounding Florida Democratic gubernatorial nominee Andrew Gillum continued to grow on Friday as newly-released documents show that an undercover Federal Bureau of Investigation agent, who posed as a developer seeking to do business with Gillum's Tallahassee government, allegedly paid thousands of dollars to support a fundraiser for Gillum's political action committee, Forward Florida. "You will have to ask him for his credit card records to determine whether he paid for them himself". But Floridians must soldier on in the few days remaining of the 2018 election cycle and decide whether Gillum is the answer, or just another corruptible "what's in for me" politician.
