Trump and Kavanaugh were not scheduled to meet while the judge was at the White House on Monday, two officials said.

Conway said if Ford is heard by the committee, her testimony "has to be weighed against what we already know, which is that Judge Kavanaugh is a man of character and integrity".

Ford told the Post that Kavanaugh "was trying to attack me and remove my clothing" at a teenagers' party one summer in the early 1980s.

The White House issued a fresh statement from Kavanaugh shortly afterward, again denying what he called a "completely false" allegation. "I have never done anything like what the accuser describes-to her or to anyone", he said.

Ford said she was able to escape Kavanaugh and his friend, whom she identified as Mark Judge.

"This woman should not be insulted and she should not be ignored", Ms. Conway said during an interview on "Fox and Friends". Republicans can accede to as many hearings as Democrats demand, and it won't alter any of the liberal rhetoric or perceptions of partisans.

"She believes that if were not for the severe intoxication of Brett Kavanaugh, she would have been raped", Katz told NBC's "Today".

The Christine Ford with awful reviews is Christine A. Ford, a social worker who taught at California State University, Fullerton from 2010 to 2014.

Asked whether the FBI is investigating the Kavanaugh allegation, the FBI said, as it did last week, that there is no FBI investigation.

Nearly the exact same series of events occurred in 1991, when law professor Anita Hill came forward to testify that then Supreme Court nominee Clarence Thomas sexually harassed her when she was assisting Thomas at the Department of Education in 1981.

On Sunday evening, a pair of outgoing Republican senators said outright that the Senate Judiciary Committee should not vote on Kavanaugh's nomination until they talk to his accuser.

Ford's former high school is located seven miles away from Kavanaugh's former high school, and each of them are single-sex educational institutions.

"We are women who have known Brett Kavanaugh for more than 35 years and knew him while he attended high school between 1979 and 1983", the women wrote in a letter to Senate Judiciary Committee members Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa) and Dianne Feinstein (D-Calif.).

"No one in their right mind regardless of their motives would want to inject themselves into this process and face the kind of violation that she will be subjected to by those who want this nominee to go though".

The committee's 10 Democratic members want to delay the planned vote and allow for an FBI investigation before the panel moves forward. On Sunday, The Washington Post published an interview with Ford.

"Now I feel like my civic responsibility is outweighing my anguish and terror about retaliation", Ford told the Post.

Lawmakers have not made any request for Ford to testify publicly before the Judiciary Committee. In July, Feinstein's office received a confidential letter from Ford detailing her accusations.

Over my almost four decades in the Senate I have worked diligently to protect whistleblowers and get to the bottom of any issue.

But she said her client was taking no decision on political matters, when asked if Kavanaugh should withdraw.

Ford recounted the incident in couples therapy back in 2012, while her therapist jotted down notes, indicating that she didn't just come forward with these allegation after Kavanaugh was nominated.

Democrats have been bitterly opposed to Trump's choice of Kavanaugh for the nation's highest court.
