Usain Bolt, aka the fastest man of all time, has jetted over to Australia to chase his another sporting dream - to become a professional football player.

"I've said all along this is for real and I'm here to show what I can do", he said. Central Coast Mariners supporters will be hoping that it is more than that, and that the swift Kingston native will help add firepower to a side that finished bottom of the 10-team league last season with a derisory count of 28 goals in 27 matches. "The Central Coast Mariners have given me a great opportunity and I'm just going to come here and do my best".

Wearing a Mariners scarf after landing in Sydney following a 14-hour flight from Los Angeles, Bolt told reporters: "I've said all along this is for real and I'm here to show what I can do".

If those markets weren't enough to raise your eyebrows perhaps $151 odds for Bolt to represent the Socceroos or $251 odds for him to play at the 2022 World Cup will convince you that you really can bet on anything these days.

The 31-year-old has already trained with several clubs around the world, including Borussia Dortmund, Stromsgodset in Norway and Mamelodi Sundowns of South Africa.

By the time they contacted her again in June this year as part of the investigation, Ashwaq had already left for Iraq. She was later sold to Daesh guard Abu Humam for £80 and taken to Syria where he "abused" her daily for ten months.

"I know what I'm capable of and I know what I can do, so this is the opportunity."

"Nerves will always be there, but I'm more excited than anything else", Bolt revealed.

Mariners officials say Bolt is to train with them for an "indefinite" period, allowing the Jamaican every chance to prove he has the ability to play soccer professionally.

However, Mariners chief executive Shaun Mielkamp stated that Bolt won't be treated specially, although extra security guards will be on hand and the club sessions might be moved to a larger venue to accommodate the fans who are expected to turn up for Bolt.

"And that's what Bolt wants - this is about his football journey".
