Federer walked out on Centre Court for his Wimbledon opener on Monday in a white Uniqlo shirt, wristband and headband.

Federer's name recognition boosts Uniqlo's global expansion efforts, especially in Europe, where the brand is opening new stores.

According to Forbes magazine's recent list of the world's highest-paid athletes, Federer now earns $77.2m (£57.63m) a year, with his Nike sponsorship one of the most lucrative deals in sport.

But on Monday, Federer was spotted wearing an all white Uniqlo outfit during his first appearance at this year's Wimbledon tournament. According to ESPN, his new endorsement deal is worth more than $300 million guaranteed over the next 10 years.

"The new partnership means that Mr Federer will represent UNIQLO at all tennis tournaments throughout the year, starting with The Championships, Wimbledon 2018".

Federer racked up nine game victories in a row and, before he knew it, Lajovic was 6-1 3-0 down and wilting in the south-west London sunshine.

"I don't have a shoe deal", said Federer.

Throughout his illustrious tennis career, Federer has become synonymous with Nike to the extent that he even had his own range (RF) with the sportswear giants.

"Basically the first one on the show court, it's always a lot to ask for from the players but I love it".

The 20-times grand-slam victor faces Serbian Dusan Lajovic in the first round and believes his big-match experience can guide him through a tricky opening encounter. I've had a great relationship over the last 20 years.

"I went to the net a couple of times, later in the third set I served worse, but in general terms I served well".

Tennis great Roger Federer, long all but synonymous with Nike Inc., has parted ways with the swoosh to join casual clothing brand Uniqlo. "They are mine. The good thing is it's not theirs forever".
