Former UCLA basketball player Billy Knight, 39, dead

The alleged crime occurred April 1, 2017.

Knight played 117 games for the Bruins, breaking out as a full-time starter as a fifth-year senior.

The former basketball star's body was found along a roadway in downtown Phoenix at around 2.45am Wednesday, according to reports.

The official cause of death has yet to be determined by the Maricopa County medical examiner, but no foul play is suspected, according to the Phoenix Police Department. Knight published a cryptic, six-minute video, titled "I am Sorry Lord", just hours before he was found dead. "I isolated myself from my friends, and that's not something you should do".

Knight played at UCLA from 1997-2002 and later had an global career.

It's the second death of a former UCLA basketball player in the past week.

Knight, who was facing six felonies, apparently chose to end his life instead.
