Charges against Stormy Daniels dropped hours after arrest

Stormy Daniels' lawyer said they will Image Stormy Daniels' lawyer said they will 'vehemently contest all charges'

Avenatti tweeted early Thursday morning that he and Daniels "will vehemently contest all charges".

Her attorney, Michael Avenatti, took to Twitter immediately to rail against the whole thing, calling the arrest a "setup" and saying it was "politically motivated".

She was originally charged on three counts of illegally touching a patron.

She vowed to donate "all tips" to the lawyers' fees for two other dancers arrested with her.

Daniels was arrested at a club in Columbus, Ohio while performing an act she has done at almost 100 strip clubs across America, Michael Avenatti wrote on Twitter.

Under Ohio law, an employee who regularly appears nude or semi-nude in a sexually oriented business is prohibited from knowingly touching a patron who's not a member of the employee's immediate family.

Avenatti argued that Daniels does not regularly appear at Club Sirens.

She canceled a Thursday night performance in Columbus.

Avenatti called the operation "a setup and politically motivated".

Daniels has alleged she had an affair with President Donald Trump in 2006 and that during his presidential campaign, she was paid $130,000 by Trump's attorney Michael Cohen to keep quiet about the tryst.

Stormy was arrested Wednesday night after motorboating an undercover police officer while performing at Sirens.

Police approached Daniels, who was topless and wearing a G-string, after she was seen "using her bare breasts to smack the patrons" and "fondling the breasts of the female patrons", according to an incident report published online by a local news outlet.

Documents on the Franklin County Municipal Court website show that Daniels will be arraigned Friday at 9 a.m.

Following her apparent arrest, Avenatti tweeted that he expected Daniels to shortly be released on bail.

Trump's spokespersons have denied the affair.

Trump admitted in May that he reimbursed Cohen for the payment, although he said at the time he did not know what it was for. She's suing Trump and his former longtime personal attorney, Michael Cohen, and seeking to invalidate a nondisclosure agreement that she signed days before the 2016 presidential election.
